Would you do this?

Just when you think you have read it all...

Ad posted on Craigslist:

I am looking for someone to camp out for me so I can get a Playstation 3. This videogame system comes out on November 17. Right now I believe Best Buy will be the best store to camp out at for this. You would need to be there around 6pm on Wednesday, November 15th. You will stay camped out until I arrive at the store a few hours before they open on November 17.

If you are a college student that means you will only have to miss classes on Thursday, Nov 16 so this would be a good way to make an easy $200 shortly before Christmas. There will be MANY other people in line with you and there is always the possibility of a camera crew stopping by as this will be a major release event. Typically an hour or two before the store opens the manager will come out and hand out tickets starting with the first person in line and will go down the line until there are no more tickets available. I plan on being there a few hours (2-3hrs) before the store opens so once you get your ticket you hand it to me and your job is done. Easy as that and you are $200 richer.

Keep in mind. Chances are IT WILL BE COLD so come dressed appropriately. I will do the following for you.

*I will provide you with a collapsable chair (which you can keep)
*I will provide you with a sleeping bag (which you can keep)
*When you start camping on Nov. 15 I will bring you dinner from a local fast food joint. (max $10)
*Early on the morning of Nov. 16 I will stop by before work and bring you breakfast (max $10) and will provide you with $10 so you can get lunch.
*The evening of Nov. 16 I will provide you with Dinner (max $10).
*Morning of Nov. 17 I will provide you with a breakfast (max $10) as I show up to relieve you of the ticket and you relieve me of $200.
*You will have the option to provide your own meals and I will give you an extra $50. This means I will not show up to provide you with any meals during the camp out...you are opting to take more cash and handle the meals yourself. I will show up to meet you when you start the camp out though...but the next time you see me will be the morning of Nov. 17.

If you are interested drop me an email and we can discuss the details. I am looking for a RELIABLE and TRUSTWORTHY individual. If you are neither of these do not email me. I cannot afford to take off from work to camp out myself, that is why I'm posting for this.

No, I am not considering this, but would YOU?

That's not the beginning of the end

ENIGMA LYRICS

"Return To Innocence"

That's not the beginning of the end
That's the return to yourself
The return to innocence
Love - Devotion
Feeling - Emotion
Love - Devotion
Feeling - Emotion
Don't be afraid to be weak
Don't be too proud to be strong
Just look into your heart my friend
That will be the return to yourself
The return to innocence
If you want, then start to laugh
If you must, then start to cry
Be yourself don't hide
Just believe in destiny
Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence
That's not the beginning of the end
That's the return to yourself
The return to innocence
Don't care what people say
Follow just your own way Follow just your own way
Don't give up, don't give up
To return, to return to innocence.
If you want then laugh
If you must then cry
Be yourself don't hide
Just believe in destiny.

How many Village People are there?

Last night I was watching one of my newest guilty pleasures. "I've got a secret?" on The Game Show Network (GSN). You know, its an updated version of the 60's game show classic where ordinary people and yes, some celebrities, that is if Carrot Tops dad can be considered a celebrity, appear and whisper into the hosts ear their secret. Then a panel of celebrity judges, and in this update version they are all Gay and Lesbian, Jermaine Taylor (who is my favorite), Suzanne Westenhoefer, Frank Decaro, and Billy Bean... I know, Who?, Who?, Who?, and Who?. Anyway, last night the mystery guest was the original Indian from the Village People. Felipe Rose. I know, WHO? When they showed a clip of the group, I noticed something I really never gave much thought to. Can you tell me how many original members there are in the group and what their costume was? I would have failed. Here they are...

Betty Please...

So, Back in High School there was this girl in our Publications class named Betty. My friends Kevin and Ryan use to sort of mock her from hilarious Lavern and Shirley episode where Lavern insist on calling Shirley "Betty" when they were working in this diner. They key phrase was "Betty Please, Betty Pick-up". We got many mileage on saying these lines and laughing til our sides hurt.. ahh High School. Fast forward 15 or so years and on a nice Saturday afternoon lounging around the house, Rick told me that he considered naming his Dog "Betty" because she was Black and he likes the song Black Water. "Oh Black Betty round and round....". Out of nowhere and I guess for nostalgia I murmured "Betty Please, Betty Pick up" under my breath. You would have thought I had unlocked the secret to the holey grail. Rick jumped up and was shocked that I would say those words. 'Where did you hear that"? He demanded. I told him about High School and a smile came across his face. He told me that when he was in college he and his friends use to mimic the same scene from Lavern and Shirley. One time we caught the episode on a rerun, but now it has been immortalized on the net on You Tube. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the funniest 6 minutes in TV Sitcom history (or at least in the top 10)

I am addicted!

Yes! I am addicted. I am addicted to playing spades on line. I use to play on this site called Flipside about 8 years ago. I use to get involved in spades tournaments that could last for hours on end. The site was taken over by Sierra about 6 years ago and the site has not been the same since. I disapeared from the scene for awhile but recently reconnected. I can play all day long!

There are many other games there to play. I would highly recommend checking it out. I play in the Rated Room One and my nick there is Jero_66 http://hoylegames.sierra.com/ Sign up and lets play a game of spades!

Lost and Found

So, I was in LA last weekend and I rented my car through Avis. I really never have a preference on which rental car company I use and I think I have used them all at some time or another. But now I think I will use Avis from now on.

When I left the Cincinnati airport it was a crisp fall morning. I grabbed a jacket on the way out the door. Nothing really special just a light weight jacket. I had checked the weather in LA and they were calling for cool evenings and possible rain, so the jacket couldn't hurt. I never really ended up wearing the jacket but I kept it in the back seat of the rental car.
Well, I forgot the jacket when I returned the car. I realized it when I was already at the airport. Like I said, it wasn’t really any special jacket so I just wrote it off as a silly slight of mind and a loss. Well, late that night (1:30am) I get a call from Avis. They found my coat and would be mailing it back to me! That was a real surprise to me. I figured it would go into lost and found and after 60 days of no one claiming it, an employee would get to take it home or it would be donated to a shelter someplace. It was above and beyond in my opinion for them to research who had that car and to contact me ASAP. I got the jacket in the mail today. It think I will call it my lucky jacket, it obviously doest not want to be separated from me.

Songs that take you back....

Do you have a song that takes you back to the exact time and space you were in when you first heard it? Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody does it to me. It immediately takes me back to 1975 riding in my moms yellow Dautsun B 2-10 with the windows down singing at the top of my lungs with my sisters. I love the music from the 70's. At the time I had no idea what lyrics I was singing but I loved the melodies. Afternoon Delight, Chevy Van, Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia, The Night Chicago Died, Run Joey Run, Blinded by the Light... I could go on and on. To this day, I still probably don't know what the song is about, but I love singing along! Here is a funny video to Blinded By the Light... it graphically tells you about the song. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-244997561798974235&q=blinded+by+the+light&hl=en Do you have a song that takes you back to a certain place and time?

OK, here it goes...

OK, Here it goes! I have decided to start blogging. I recently gave up message boards and I desperately need an outlet to talk about the random things in my life to complete strangers and some not so much strangers. That's pretty much what this site will consist of, my ramblings... the good, the bad, and the ugly.

This past weekend I was in LA. I had to find a hotel at the last minute and chose the Travel Lodge in lovely downtown Burbank. It was in a safe area and was really cheap. My first request from the front desk was for an iron and ironing board. The ironing board was one of those dorm room kinds with the 2 inch legs. It did what I needed to do. Next I had no hot water. I had luke warm water so I made do. Finally the hair dryer did not work. When I called about this and explained to the woman that I had unplugged, pushed the reset button, pushed the on/off button and it still didn't work she spoke in disbelief and said she would send someone to look at it. I didn't need anyone to look at it, I needed a working hair dryer! They didn't have one so I had to go to this red carpet event with toweled dried hair. Luckily it was raining in LA that night and so I fit right in.

The second night I had to get a different hotel because of logistics and the Travel Lodge was sold out Saturday night. Must have been something large happening in Burbank! I lucked into a great hotel on 3rd street 2 blocks from The Grove and Farmers Market. It was called the Park Plaza Lodge Hotel. I will stay there every time I go to LA from now on. It was affordable, clean, centrally located and best of all, it had hot water and a working hair dryer!
